Why I Created This Mix

This mix has been a long time coming. As someone who's been making music since 2011, Avicii's work has been a constant source of inspiration. Tim Bergling didn't just make music – he created anthems that defined a generation. His ability to blend electronic elements with acoustic instruments, to create something that's both danceable and deeply emotional – that's what I've always tried to capture in my own work.

When I sat down to create this "Best of Avicii" mix for the end of 2025, I wanted to do more than just string together his biggest hits. I wanted to create a journey – one that captures the evolution of his sound, from those early progressive house tracks to the more introspective work he was creating before he passed away.

This mix is my tribute to Tim, to his music, and to the countless hours I've spent listening to his tracks, learning from his production techniques, and being inspired by his creativity. It's also for everyone who, like me, still finds comfort and joy in his music.

The Journey Through Tim's Music

Creating this mix wasn't just about picking the biggest hits – it was about telling a story. I wanted to take you on a journey through Tim's musical evolution, from those early progressive house anthems to the more emotional, introspective tracks that came later.

I started with "Waiting For Love" because it represents everything I love about Avicii's music – that perfect blend of uplifting melodies and emotional depth. From there, I moved through "The Nights" and "Broken Arrows," tracks that showcase his ability to create anthems that feel both personal and universal.

The mix includes extended versions of many tracks because that's how I first experienced Avicii's music – in clubs, at festivals, where those extended mixes gave the tracks room to breathe and build. There's something special about hearing "Levels" in its original form, or "Fade Into Darkness" in the vocal club mix – these versions capture the energy and emotion that made Tim's music so powerful.

5. Tim Berg - Seek Bromance (Avicii's Vocal Extended Mix) – Going back to his earlier work as Tim Berg, this track shows where it all began.

6. Avicii vs Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One (Extended Mix) – A collaboration that showcases the best of both artists, this track is pure energy.

7. Avicii - Dear Boy (Extended Mix) – From his "True" album, this track blends electronic and acoustic elements perfectly.

8. Avicii - Silhouettes (Original Mix) – One of his earlier progressive house tracks, this shows his roots in the genre.

9. Avicii - Levels (Original Version) – The track that changed everything. This is the one that put Tim on the map, and it still hits just as hard today.

My Mixing Process

Creating this mix took me several days. I wanted to make sure the transitions were smooth, that each track flowed into the next in a way that felt natural and intentional. I spent hours listening to each track, finding the right moments to blend them together.

I used extended versions of most tracks because they give me more room to work with – more time to build the energy, to create those moments of tension and release that make a mix special. I also wanted to preserve the emotional journey of each track, letting them breathe and build the way Tim intended.

The mix was created in FL Studio, my go-to DAW since 2011. I've been using it for over a decade, and it's where I feel most comfortable creating. I used a combination of manual mixing and some light effects to smooth out the transitions, but I tried to keep it minimal – I wanted Tim's music to shine, not my production techniques.

What Avicii's Music Means to Me

I've been making music for over a decade, and Avicii's work has been a constant source of inspiration throughout that journey. His ability to create something that's both danceable and deeply emotional – that's what I've always tried to capture in my own work.
